An Obscure Bucharian Rabbi
Rabbi Hertzel H. Yitzhak, was born in Israel and immigrated to the United States in 1986. He graduated
with honors from Queens College, N.Y.,obtained a doctorate in clinical psychology in Chicago, and received his Rabbinical ordination in Israel. He was also a professor of psychology and Bible at Hebrew Theological College. Rabbi Yitzhak also studied music, art and photography. His art work was on display for several years at Queens College. Rabbi Yitzhak and his wife, Kochava, are blessed with three children:Noam, Nava and Yedidya. He has authored a book named Tzel Heharim- an extensive research on Tzitzit and is highly recommended by HaRav Ovadia Yosef as the best book on tzitzit written so far. He is a good friend of HaRov David Yosef, author of Yalkut Yosef. Currently, he is the Rav of the Sephardi Jewish Community of Chigaco and is a big activist in building the community, along with resevering the post of a Dayan (judge) in the Beit Din (jewish court society.) It is truly amazing that we have in our midst, a Rav of such caliber!
